Jordan & Lauren

A Black-Tie Countryside Wedding at a Somerset Farm Retreat

Set amongst the rolling countryside of Somerset, Jordan and Lauren created a wedding that felt effortlessly elegant. Blending black-tie sophistication with the relaxed charm of a countryside farm retreat, every detail reflected their vision - thoughtfully planned, beautifully styled and deeply personal.

A Labour of Love

From the moment I arrived, it was obvious just how much heart had gone into creating this day.

Lauren had spent months bringing her vision to life, taking on so many of the details herself. From styling the venue and arranging the décor to creating her own florals and even making every single dessert—a beautiful collection of miniature pots for guests to enjoy—every element had been carefully considered.

Despite the scale of everything she'd created, nothing felt overdone. It all came together with an understated elegance that perfectly complemented the black-tie dress code and the natural beauty of the countryside.

The Calm Before "I Do"

The farm retreat itself felt like stepping into another world.

Everything had already been prepared over the previous few days, leaving the morning wonderfully peaceful. Birds sang from the trees, grasshoppers chirped in the long grass and sheep grazed quietly in the distance, creating the perfect backdrop for such a relaxed start to the day.

Guests arrived dressed in classic black-tie attire, adding a sense of timeless sophistication that contrasted beautifully with the wildflowers, open fields and rustic surroundings.

An Editorial Love Story

For their portraits, Jordan and Lauren envisioned imagery and videos that felt editorial, elegant and timeless.

With the black-tie styling setting the tone, we leaned into refined compositions and fashion-inspired posing, while allowing space for genuine interactions to unfold naturally. The result was a collection of images that felt both polished and authentic - combining the sophistication of an editorial shoot with the honesty of documentary storytelling.

That's My Little Girl

One of the most emotional moments of the day happened quietly, away from the guests.

Before the ceremony, Lauren shared a first look with her dad. As he turned around and saw her for the first time, his immediate reaction was simply,

"That's my little girl."

He'd joked beforehand that he didn't think he'd be the emotional one, but the moment he saw Lauren, everything changed. The tears came instantly.

Watching him take in the sight of his daughter, dressed for one of the biggest moments of her life, was incredibly moving. There was so much pride, love and disbelief wrapped into those few seconds.

It's moments like these that remind me why I love documenting weddings. They can't be recreated, and they often become some of the most treasured memories from the entire day.

It was a real privilege to witness.
